Hi, I’m Denaya Black

Denaya is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who earned her MA in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s University. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to supporting diverse populations, specializing in sexual wellness, complex attachment trauma, recovery from narcissistic relationships, PTSD, and mood disorders. She also provides expert care for digital technology addiction and other maladaptive chronic behaviors, helping clients navigate unhealthy coping mechanisms with compassion and clinical depth.

Her therapeutic approach is deeply holistic, honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit. Denaya believes that every individual possesses spiritual gifts and the capacity to live purposefully. Guided by her faith, she integrates a clinical foundation with a profound recognition of the One True Healer’s role in the restorative process.

Trained in EMDR, suicidality intervention, mental health & nutrition and technology addiction, Denaya draws from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Experiencing, and Mindfulness to provide a comprehensive healing experience.

Beyond her practice, Denaya finds joy in God’s creation through hiking, camping, and time spent with her family. Whether she is lost in a good book or sharing a meal with friends, she finds restoration in the simple, beautiful moments of life.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
